Oil/Water Separators were developed by Master Chemical Corporation to extend coolant life and to reduce the harmful effects of tramp oil contamination on water miscible fluids such as poor tool life and finishes, corrosion, dermatitis and fluid rancidity.

Portable XYBEX®

APPLICATION
Portable XYBEX® systems are available in single- and double-compartment configurations. In the single-compartment system, the Yellow Bellied Sump Sucker pumps dirty coolant, chips and fines from the machine tool sump and through a filter, removing the solids. With the solids removed, the fluid is returned to the sump and the machine tool resumes production. Then, filtered fluid can be centrifuged to remove tramp oils in a side-stream operation while the machine tool is operating.
With the new, double-compartment portable XYBEX® system, machine sumps are emptied and vacuumed into one side of the system. Clean, replacement fluid, available from the clean-product storage compartment of the system, is used to refill the machine immediately and return it to production.
As soon as the machine tool is back on-line, the centrifuge can be started, transferring the retained fluid from the dirty-product side to the clean side. As the fluid passes through the centrifuge, solids, tramp oils and other extraneous oils are removed from the metalworking fluid, leaving only clean, oil-free, recycled coolant on the clean side of the machine. The portable XYBEX® system then can be wheeled to the next machine tool for tank-side fluid recycling.

Tramp Oil Terminator™
Portable centrifuge unit for removing emulsified tramp oils

The Tramp Oil Terminator™ was developed by Master Chemical Corporation (the originators of coolant recycling) to meet the need of the small metalworking plant for a compact, portable, high speed centrifuge, tramp oil separator. The Tramp Oil Terminator™ will process both water miscible coolants and aqueous cleaners to remove free and emulsified tramp oils, providing clean and reusable coolants and cleaners. Removing tramp oils (hydraulic oils, way lubes or any undesirable oil) from coolants and cleaners removes a food source for bacteria, reduces undesirable residues, and reduces smoke and oil mist in the shop atmosphere.

Benefits:

  • Extended life of coolants and cleaners
  • Improved machining
  • Longer tool life
Features:
  • Compact and portable for machine tool sumps and parts washers
  • Simple operation
  • High-speed, disk-bowl centrifuge
  • Stainless-steel hood and bowl
  • Built in clean fluid centripetal discharge pump
  • Easy dismantling of bowl for cleaning
  • Quick disconnects on feed and dicharge
  • Strainer and 50 micron cleanable prefilter
  • Air pump and floating skimmer for feed
  • Automatic shut off when tramp oil collection tank is full

High Speed Disc Bowl Centrifuges

Master Chemical Corporation has engineered tramp oil separator systems utilizing rugged, reliable centrifuges. Master Chemical's unique knowledge of both metalworking fluids and state-of-the-art centrifuges results in properly sized and engineered tramp oil removal systems.

The centrifuge package is designed and fabricated in Perrysburg, Ohio and tailored to meet the specific needs of the customer. Master Chemical also has a complete, licensed service technical staff to perform start-up and service work.

Available with both solid-wall bowl centrifuges (manual) or with self-desludging bowl centrifuges (automatic).

Ultrafiltration/Microfiltration Systems

Master Chemical Corporation's new Ultrafiltration/Microfiltration System is a patented closed loop filtration system capable of processing coolants, cleaners, parts washing baths, air compressor condensate and mop water. The Microfiltration system is capable of flow rates up to 76 U.S. gph (287 lph), dependent upon fluid chemistry. The system's unique design eliminates the need for a working tank. Unit is also available in a small 16 gph (63 lph), portable system.

Benefits:

  • Greatly reduces fluid disposal
  • Maintains parts washing fluid cleanliness
  • Reduces cleaner concentrate usage
Features:
